ORDER

COMPLAINT NO. 70/93

In the matter of William Scott and
Pauline Simpson, Attorney-at-Law

AND

In the matter of the Legal Profession Act

UPON THE APPLICATION dated 12th July, 1993 made under the Section 12 (1) (A) of the Legal Profession Act coming on before the Disciplinary Committee at the hearing held on the 17th Day of February, 1996 with Miss Hilary Phillips, as Chairman together with Dr. Adolph Edwards and Miss Helen McLean.

AND UPON the Complainant, William Scott appearing and giving evidence on oath

AND UPON the attorney-at-law Pauline Simpson not appearing AND UPON DUE CONSIDERATION of evidence

THE COMMITTEE FOUND Attorney-at-law Pauline Simpson guilty of misconduct in a professional respect.

PURSUANT OF THE FOREGOING FINDINGS, THE DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE UNANIMOUSLY HEREBY ORDER:

  1. That the defendant Pauline Simpson pay a fine of XXXXXXX to the Committee pursuant to section 12 4 (c) of the Legal Profession Act.
  2. That the Defendant pay to the Complainant the sum XXXXXXX by way of restitution pursuant to the Section 12 4 (c) of The Legal Profession Act.
  3. That costs amounting to $17,000 be paid by the Defendant to the Complainant.
