UPON THE APPLICATION dated 15th April, 1994 made under the Section 12 (1) (A) of the Legal Profession Act coming on for hearing before the Disciplinary Committee on the 10th December, 1994, the 18th February, 1995, the 1st April, 1995, the 28th october, 1995, the 2nd December, 1995, the 24th February, 1996

AND UPON the Complainant, Steadman Kelly appearing and giving evidence on oath

AND UPON the attorney-at-law Richard Williams not appearing

AND UPON DUE CONSIDERATION of the evidence

THE COMMITTEE FOUND Attorney-at-law Richard Williams guilty of misconduct in a professional respect.

PURSUANT OF THE FOREGOING FINDINGS, THE DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE UNANIMOUSLY HEREBY ORDER:

  1. That the attorney-at-law Richard Williams be Fined a sum of $15,000.00 of which $7,500.00 is to be paid to the Complainant.
  2. That costs of $2,000.00 be paid by Mr. Williams to the complainant.
