NOTICE TO ALL ATTORNEYS

Please be reminded that Regulation 16 (6) of the Legal Profession (Accounts and Records) Regulations empowers the Council to withhold the issue of a practising certificate to any attorney who fails to comply with Regulation 16 (1) which requires every attorney to deliver to the Secretary of the Council an accountant’s report or declaration in respect of the preceding financial year.

This regulation will be enforced in respect of attorneys who seek a practising certificate for the coming calendar year commencing 1st January, 2019.

You are therefore urged to immediately comply with the Regulations failing which you will be unable to obtain a practising certificate for the year 2019 and liable to disciplinary proceedings.
