UPON THE APPLICATION made under section 12 (1) (a) of the Legal Profession Act and dated the 19th day of July, 2017 coming on for hearing before the Disciplinary Committee on the 3rd February, 2018, 14th April, 201 8, 2nd June, 2018 and 13th September, 2018.
AND UPON the Respondent Attorney-at-law Arnaldo Brown appearing on 13th September, 2018 with Counsel Leonard Green but having not appeared on the 3rd February, 2018, 14, April, 2018 but having Council Leonard Green appearing on the 2nd June,2018
AND UPON the Complainant Allan Wood, Q.C. appearing with Counsel Candice Williams and having given evidence on oath
AND UPON the Respondent Attorney admitting through his Counsel Leonard Green to having committed breaches of the Legal Profession (Accounts and Records) Regulations for the years 2002, 2004, 2007, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 contrary to sections 16 (1) and 17 of the said Regulations.
AND UPON the Committee finding that such breaches by the Attorney Arnaldo Brown amounted to professional misconduct contrary to section 12(1) (a) of the Legal Profession Act.
PURSUANT TO THE FOREGOING FINDINGS THE COMMITTEE UNANIMOUSLY ORDERED THAT: –
The attorney at-law Arnaldo Brown should pay a fine of $30,000.00 for each year that he was found to be in breach of the Legal Profession (Accounts and Records) Regulations 1999, plus costs of $60,000.00 amounting to a sum of $300,000.00 to the General Legal Council on or before 15th November, 2018.
