UPON THE APPLICATION made under section 12 (1) (a) of the Legal Profession Act and dated the 12th day of October, 2017 coming on for hearing before the Disciplinary Committee on the 27th October 2017
AND UPON the Respondent Attorney-at-Law Diane Jobson appearing and represented by Attorney-at-Law, Cecil Mitchell 2018.
AND UPON the Complainant Richard Ayoub appearing
AND UPON the Respondent Attorney having admitted to committing breaches of the Legal Profession (Accounts and Records) Regulations for the years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2014 contrary to sections 16 (1) and 17 of the said Regulations.
AND UPON the Committee finding that such breaches by the Attorney Diane Jobson amounted to professional misconduct contrary to section 12(1) (a) of the Legal Profession Act.
PURSUANT TO THE FOREGOING FINDINGS THE COMMITTEE UNANIMOUSLY ORDERED THAT: –
- A warning in relation to the deficient manner of the declarations that were filed late.
- The Attorney-at-Law Diane Jobson should pay a fine of $20,000 for each year that she was found to be in breach of the Legal Profession (Accounts and Records) Regulations 1999, plus costs of $20,000.00 amounting to a sum of $100,000.00 to be paid on or before 9th November 2018 to the General Legal
Council.
