UPON THE APPLICATION made under section 12 (1) (a) of the Legal Profession Act and dated the 23rd November 2017 along with supporting Affidavit sworn to on the 23rd November, 2017and coming on for hearing before the Disciplinary Committee on the 28th July 2018 and 29th September 2018
AND UPON the Respondent Attorney-at-law Keith Jarrett not appearing
AND UPON the Complainant Novar McDonald appearing
AND UPON the Committee having found the Attorney guilty of professional misconduct in breach of the provisions of Regulation 17 of the Legal Profession (Accounts and Records) Regulations 1999, his having failed to file Accountant’s Reports with the Secretary of the General Legal Council pursuant to Regulation 16(1) of the Legal Profession (Accounts and Records) Regulations 1999 and his having failed to file Declarations with the Secretary of the General Legal Council pursuant to Regulation 16(2) of the Legal Profession (Accounts and Records) Regulations as amended, for the years 2014, 2015 and 2016.
AND UPON the Attorney having been given the opportunity to make submissions in mitigation of sanction on the 28th July, 2021
PURSUANT TO THE FOREGOING FINDINGS THE COMMITTEE UNANIMOUSLY ORDERED THAT: –
Pursuant to Section 12 (4)
- The name of the Attorney -at-law Keith Jarrett is struck from the Roll of Attorneys-at-law entitled to practice in the several courts of the island of Jamaica.
