The Regulatory Reform Committee is mandated to review on an ongoing basis, the regulatory regime for the Jamaican legal profession and best practices in other jurisdictions, with a view to recommending changes. The Committee has identified various matters that require attention, including:
- Regulations in relation to contingency fee agreements;
- Amendments to the Canons that govern advertising;
- Procedure for applying for Practicing Certificates; and
- Clients’ Compensation Rules.
